To be able to look good while wearing an extra large top- you need to be able to pair it with bottoms that give your body definition. Over sized t-shirts and sweater shirts are very popular today. But unfortunately not everyone looks cute while wearing them. The reason Taylor Swift was able to get away with wearing that clearly too large of a t-shirt is because she placed it with a pair of jeans that hugs her curves and shows her body. By doing this she doesn't look like shes just thrown on a random piece of clothing and is having a lazy day- she looks nicely put together therefor the over sized shirt works. So if you're into the over sized top look, I suggest that you take the time and effort to pair it with a pair of pants that gives you a feminine touch or else you won't get that look you're looking for.
