Leather jackets are a must have item in your closet. They are the perfect way to add a bit of edge to any outfit. They come in a variety of colours, cuts, styles and designs. Anyone can pull off a leather jacket if worn correctly. My favourite items to pair them with are a trendy top with a pair of jeans or an over-sized t-shirt and a pair of leggings.

   Pricey VS Cheap

   Blazers are one of my new obsessions. A blazer can add a bit of class to any outfit if worn correctly. In local malls there are a variety of blazers available. They can range from as little as $20 - over $350 depending on quality, company, and fabric. This cream coloured blazer on the left can be bought at a local store 'Club Monaco'. It is called the "Olivia Blazer" it costs $239.00. The blazer on the left is a "Girls Crepe Shawl Blazer" and can be bought at bluenotes for only $30.00. Although both blazers can be worn on daily bases- the "Olivia Blazer" is almost 10x the price because it is made from rayon and polyester fabrics compared to the "Girls Crepe Shawl Blazer" being made from inexpensive cotton.

When you think of coats- you think of warmth. But that's not always the case. Nowadays trendy stores sell lot's of different style of coats. No, I am not saying they don't sell coats to keep you warm in the fall and winter seasons, but what I am saying is that majority of the time they are being sold because of the design. There's a long list of different styles of jackets. Some of my favourites are the trench coat, pea coat, fashion parka and knit jackets.

How to pull off an over sized top

To be able to look good while wearing an extra large top- you need to be able to pair it with bottoms that give your body definition. Over sized t-shirts and sweater shirts are very popular today. But unfortunately not everyone looks cute while wearing them. The reason Taylor Swift was able to get away with wearing that clearly too large of a t-shirt is because she placed it with a pair of jeans that hugs her curves and shows her body. By doing this she doesn't look like shes just thrown on a random piece of clothing and is having a lazy day- she looks nicely put together therefor the over sized shirt works. So if you're into the over sized top look, I suggest that you take the time and effort to pair it with a pair of pants that gives you a feminine touch or else you won't get that look you're looking for.

A jean jacket has been a must have in your closet for several decades now. Looking back though, some of the 'hottest' trends are big oops in the fashion world. Taking a flashback look at the 80's, the popular embellished denim jackets are something that you would probably take a deep breath at. Though there have been some more modernized embellished denim jackets, they haven't been as big as a wow factor that the 80's have given us to remember. Now moving forward to the 1990's, the jackets are just as big of a oops as the 80's. Jean jackets tend to have shoulder pads which broaden the shoulders on male and female. And on females in particular, it makes them look very masculine which isn't a very positive feature. 1991 was a year to remember for denim- not only the jackets but even a denim DRESS!! Popular celebrities Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake showed up to the 2001 AMA's dressed in all denim. Now just let that sink in. A light denim look was very popular during the 2000's. Now today in 2013, we have taken these horrific looks of the past and added some modern features giving us denim clothing that we can bare to look at. A mid-waist cut is the common trend in female denim jackets today, and for male just above the butt is where the jacket sits. Dark denim is the most popular, but there are the few light washed and even acid washed items available if that's what you prefer. To sum this up, jean jackets are a classic and though we think we've evolved in the fashion world people are going to look back 30 years from now and wonder what were we thinking when designing those denim jackets?

Hawaiian Shirts

My Experience With Hawaiian Shirts

    A Hawaiian shirt isn't something that you'd expect someone to wear out in public- let alone 3 teenage girls. My friend had moved away a few months back, and she finally was down for a visit so we thought it'd be a great time to get together and have a sleepover like old times. We decided to sleep at our friends house, whose dad happened to have a box full of Hawaiian shirts. Why? We didn't have a clue. Without hesitation, we all randomly chose a shirt and put it on. We wore the shirts around all day and even had a photo shoot with them on. My friend and I decided to keep our Hawaiian shirts, and for a while whenever she came down the 3 of us would try to get together and have a sleepover and wear our Hawaiian shirts. This all was a couple years ago now, but to this day I still have my Hawaiian shirt folded at the back of my dresser and I keep it to remind me that some things never change, the 3 of us still have the quirky friendship we had when we all met in grade 6.
